Tucker French Features Unico System in Major Renewables Drive

Distributor Tucker French, established in 2000 and headquartered in Epsom, Surrey, has strengthened its commitment to the growing renewables market by featuring the Unico System as part of a significant expansion of its sustainable product offering.

With branches across London, the South East and the Home Counties, Tucker French has traditionally stocked an extensive range of heating and plumbing products from market-leading manufacturers. In response to rapidly increasing demand for renewable energy solutions, the company has expanded its portfolio and is pleased to have taken on the role of Specialist Partner for the Unico System.

“We see great opportunities with Unico and heat pumps, especially in the higher-end residential market,” says Sales Director, Andy Tucker.

The installation market in the South East is being well served by a growing number of new renewables installers alongside established organisations. Tucker French is well positioned to support them all. The company’s Epsom headquarters is now home to a new Daikin Sustainable Home Centre, showcasing Daikin’s heat pumps and other renewable energy solutions. The Centre provides homeowners with the opportunity to learn more about the technology and serves as an outstanding training facility. A number of major renewables installers have already participated in customised and comprehensive educational programmes.

As part of the Sustainable Home Centre, a fully operational Unico System has been installed, enabling visitors to experience first-hand the benefits of heating and cooling delivered by Unico’s Small Duct High Velocity (SDHV) technology.

The Unico System is a 3-in-1 heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC) solution that can provide heating, cooling, ventilation, air filtration, humidity control and air disinfection. Its SDHV technology creates draft-free, even temperatures throughout a property in both hot and cold weather, delivering excellent energy efficiency in an environmentally friendly and cost-effective package. The system’s modular design also improves indoor air quality by incorporating ventilation, fresh air, filtration and UV technology. Its small duct system helps regulate and ventilate buildings effectively, reducing airborne impurities and moisture build-up.

As a Unico Specialist Partner, members of the Tucker French Product Champions team have undertaken full training in all aspects of the Unico System. This enables the company to provide dedicated training to both existing and prospective installers.

“It’s a great introduction for those whose customers are looking to make the transition to more sustainable home heating and cooling,” comments Andy. “We offer expert advice to both the trade and the public on the benefits of combining the Unico System with Daikin heat pumps.”

Tucker French operates a vast central warehouse at its Epsom headquarters to support its full product range, as well as a fleet of 16 delivery vans serving branches in Fulham, High Wycombe, Stockwell, Kingston, Watford and Wandsworth. The company also offers an excellent Stay on Site (SOS) service, providing one-hour delivery on any items currently in stock.

“It is a quickly changing market and with our experienced and knowledgeable staff we ensure customers always get the best advice and the right combination of heating, cooling and renewables,” says Andy.

Unico System Delivers For Devon Renewables On All Fronts

The Unico System Small Duct High Velocity (SDHV) heating, ventilation and cooling installation at Devon Renewables’ headquarters in Exeter is proving to be a powerful demonstration tool for architects, homeowners and specifiers alike. The fully operational system showcases how an all-in-one renewable indoor climate solution can transform comfort levels in both residential and commercial environments – while also providing a perfectly balanced working environment for the company’s own team.

Installed within the company’s 40m² ground floor showroom, the complete Unico System is on display, including the Air Handling Unit model linked to the main supply duct. From here, branches of sound-attenuated flexible supply tubing lead to discreet white circular ceiling outlets that blend seamlessly into the interior. These outlets deliver conditioned air directly into the showroom, allowing visitors to experience first-hand the system’s rapid response times and the smooth transition between controlled heating and cooling.

The system is paired with a Worcester Bosch 4kW CS 2000 AWF Monobloc Heat Pump outside unit and incorporates an HMI Master Controller and Nest Thermostat, giving visitors a clear insight into system performance and control functionality.

Beyond its showroom appeal, the Unico System plays an essential day-to-day role throughout the company’s offices across both floors of the building. Staff benefit from a consistently comfortable, draft-free indoor climate throughout the year – warm in winter and refreshingly cool in summer. Conditioned air is delivered almost silently at less than 30 decibels, a significant advantage within a busy office setting where employee wellbeing and acoustic comfort are key to maintaining a productive working environment.

With the Unico System fully integrated into its headquarters, Devon Renewables is able to demonstrate a complete indoor comfort solution that works seamlessly alongside the Worcester Bosch heat pump.

Matt Bird of Devon Renewables comments: “The Unico System has a very different minimalist look and offers a different experience compared with traditional heating and air conditioning. Showroom visitors can see and feel immediately its potential advantages from both a performance and interior design viewpoint.”

Installation throughout the showroom and offices was straightforward, supported by the flexibility of the supply tubing. This adaptability makes the system particularly well suited to renovation projects, including period properties, as well as new-build developments – a benefit that Devon Renewables highlights to customers considering sustainable upgrades.

The showroom presents the Unico System alongside a comprehensive range of renewable technologies including heat pumps, solar energy, battery storage and EV charging solutions. As a regional leader in sustainable energy solutions, Devon Renewables is committed to helping households and specifiers transition away from fossil fuels and achieve their sustainability goals.

The company is accredited as a Unico System Specialist Partner and Worcester Bosch installer. With MCS certification, Devon Renewables provides full installation, technical expertise and customer support across its renewable product portfolio.
